If you are searching for a truly unique experience outside your normal food routine; this is your sign to visit Tibet, right in the heart of Saigon.

Hidden away in Thảo Điền, Om Momo is Vietnam’s first authentic Tibetan restaurant, quietly serving soulful Himalayan comfort food with momos at the heart of it all.

What began as a passion project by two Tibetan filmmakers, former students of the Dalai Lama, has become a table of stories. Every dish feels deeply personal; shaped by the cultures they’ve traveled through and the memories of Tibet they carry with them.

The momos are a must. What truly sets them apart is the sauce,  not the usual soy-based dip, but a thicker, deeply flavorful one, made with chicken, beef, and spinach-cheese. One bite in, and you’ll understand why it lingers.

My other favorite? Drunken Lama.

Think poached pear in European mulled wine  but paired with Vietnamese fermented glutinous rice. Unexpected, comforting, and quietly addictive.

One glance around and you’ll feel it; the warmth, the hospitality, the calm energy. This is the kind of place that stays with you… and keeps calling you back.
